About the author

Dr. Urs Hirt studied chemistry at the Technical College for applied sciences in Reutlingen (Germany) and at the University of Basel (Switzerland). In 2000, he promoted at the University of Basel. Dr. Urs Hirt worked in the international chemical industry at Ciba and BASF. At BASF, he was responsible for the implementation of various global lean management projects in operations and innovation management as well as the transformation of entire locations. At Ciba, Dr. Urs Hirt was the secretary of the Executive Committee and responsible for senior projects as well as for several departments and technologies. At Staufen AG, he is a member of the management board of Staufen.Inova AG Switzerland, he manages a team of senior consultants and supports his clients in the fields of strategy, lean implementation, process design and development.
